Highlights

The Miami National College Fair:
Annually, more than 8,000 parents and students visit with 150+ colleges from across the country to learn about postsecondary education.  Representatives provide literature and applications and answer questions about admission, academic offerings, financial aid, scholarships and athletics. CAP Advisors present seminars on issues that relate to admission and financial aid. The fair is sponsored in cooperation with the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC).

Advisors participate in planning and producing the college fair and serve as guides for parents and students who attend. The Miami National College Fair is a national model for fairs nationwide.

College Fairs:
The CAP advisor in each senior high school coordinates a school-based college fair in preparation and support of the Miami National College Fair.

College Forum:
The CAP advisor in each high school assembles a panel of previous graduates to discuss their college experiences with graduating seniors.

Scholarship Bulletins:
The CAP advisor in each high school publishes a scholarship bulletin to inform students and parents about scholarship opportunities.

The CAP, Inc. Grant:
Annually, over $500,000 last dollars grants are awarded to M-DCPS high school graduates who demonstrate need.
